On November 09, 2017, over 200 senior executives from diverse
industries gathered at PwC innovation center in shanghai attending the breakfast
seminar held by Bo Le Associates (Bo Le).
At the event, Bo Le called for action and collaboration between corporate executives, human resources professionals and new generation of C-level leaders to respond to the talent/leader development of the new age.
The event began with an opening speech by David Chan, Managing
director and the head of Shanghai office, who marked the event to give a snapshot
of the latest trend of talent market for generation X and Y. He also thanked
all attendees.
>>>> Ellen Lin, Managing Director and the head of Chengdu manager, spoke
about “The young leaders in the age of globalization” and pinpointed “how do
young leaders stand out?” She mentioned The New Four Great Inventions of China:
The Bullet train, Jingdong.com, Alipay and Mobike. These inventions have changed consumer
behaviors and market practices.

>>>> In David Chan’s speech, the topic “the generations of the 60s to 90s team management” illustrated the gaps between the 60s to 90s and talked about Bo Le’s own staff in terms of age groups. He then gave the major key themes to carry on no matter the age in management: ”Engagement, Empowerment, Respect, Trust, Faith and Passion”.

>>>> David Xu, Director and the head of Suzhou office, pointed out that the average age between Alibaba, Huawei, Tencent and Baidu was 27. He expressed that if the number of generation 80s’ takes up more than 70% of your company staff, then your company is embracing the new world. David then shared his experience on leading a young and over-achieving team in the Suzhou office.

During the roundtable chat, Managing
Director Linda Li of Bo Le Associates, led the panelists to discuss the
topic of "A new journey of Young Leaders". The four distinguished panelists
were Pierre Zhuang, CEO at Bo Le Associates, Liming Zhang, COO and Co-founder
at 51Talk, Grace Gui, HR Director at Burberry and Wentao Chan, Group Experience
Director Great China at PwC.

Mr. Liming Zhang mentioned that allowing the youth to blossom and keep them
motivated were major tasks.
Mr. Wentao Chan and Ms.
Grace Gui both agreed that management needs to
understand that while young talent may make mistakes due to inexperience, the
mistakes would ultimately lead them to success.
Pierre Zhuang of Bo Le Associates stressed the importance of maintaining balance between giving the youth freedom while striving for company business goals.
